Do you meditate? Do you want to meditate?… If you can't make it to the Friday night Sangha? If you would like an additional time to 'sit'? Or if you just want a time to spend some...“Present moments, Wonderful moments” with others? Come join Azalea Sangha (Sangha: A family; a community that lives or practices, in harmony and awareness.) This Sangha will follow in the traditions of Thich Nhat Hanh, (Thay for teacher, pronounced ‘tie’ as in pie) a Zen Master who teaches Engaged Buddhism through mindfulness in our daily lives. No need to be Buddhist! No knowledge of meditation required! This group is for beginners & long time 'sitters' alike, from this or other traditions.

“We never say ’strike’ the bell, because for us the bell is a friend who can 'wake us up' to full understanding. We say ‘invite’ the bell, meaning invite the bell to sound.”—TNH |

Starting March 15, the Azalea Sangha will meet Mondays from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm in the Common Room. Everyone is welcome you to join us! Bring your own Zufu and Zabuton (meditation cushion and mat) or borrow from those available in the Common Room. Chairs will be available for anyone not wishing to sit on the floor. Our 'quiet' room set up and 'settle in' starts at 6:45 pm. Please come in time to get settled in! If you come in late ...just enter quietly and leave your shoes inside the door. The bell for the first meditation will ring at 7:00 pm. After a short Silent Meditation we will have a reading and or Guided Meditation followed by Walking Meditation. We will then have a recorded or written Dharma Talk from Thay, and then a period for Deep Listening? Dharma Discussion. We will end with another Silent Mediation and or song depending on time. We will then share clean up and social time. |
