Sunday Service, at 9:30 AM in the Common Room. All are invited to join the discussion. See topics below.

June 27, Open discussion, bring an interesting article or topic for discussion.

June 20, U of F Physics Professor and UUFG member,  Paul Avery, will talk about his recent trip to CERN, the Super Collider Project in Switzerland

June 13, Speaker : Pat Rayos,  Community Organizer with Action Network  Her topic is "Health Care Reform: What Does it Mean to You"

June 6: Open discussion.

May 30: Open discussion, bring an interesting topic or article from the news.

May 23: Our speaker will be Marcus Dodd, UUFG member, Ret. Attorney. The title of his talk is: "The Central Committee Rules China, Does the RNC Rule the USA?"
May 16: Our guest speaker will be Prof. Stephen Gottesman, Prof. emeritus, Dept. of Astronomy, UF. His subject is: "Worlds Beyond the Solar System."

May 9: Dr. Howard Rothman, PhD, Prof. of Hearing and Speech Sciences, at the U of F. His topic is "What is Jewish Music ?"
Apr. 25: Ronald Dalton, UUFG member and retired Prof. of Engineering will have some non technical comments based on the 2007 biography "Einstein" by Walter IsaacsonClick here to see the NYTimes review

Apr. 11: Sidney Ellis, a UUFG member, MA in Philosophy, and retired Federal employee.  His topic is"Church / State Relations in the US in Historical Context"

Apr. 4:
Bob Kendall,  Long time UUFG  member , Ret. Professor of Public Relations, UF. His topic will be " The Meaning of Liberty :Freedom and Liberty vs. Opponents"

March 28:  NO DISCUSSION GROUP this week, due to Fellowship Retreat.

March 21: Tricia Moore, Volunteer Coordinator of Volunteer Services, and Jennifer Colley, Senior Professional Liaison, of Haven Hospice. Their topic is "Sharing the Message of Haven Hospice"

Mar. 14: David Etherington, an active 18 year member of UUFG, practicing attorney and seminary student at Meadville-Lombard. His topic is UUA Congregational Study Action Issue 2008-2012 : Ethical Eating and Environmental Justice.

Feb. 28: Bob Hornberger, UUFG member , social activist, on "Staring at the Sun- Overcoming the Terror of Death "

Dr. Kevin McCarthy,  Historian, author,  Professor emeritus , U of F on "African Americans in Florida"

Feb. 7: Bob Kendall, UUFG member, Retired U of F Professor, Dept. of Journalism on "An Analysis of Manifest Destiny"

Jan. 31:

Jan. 24: Kirsten Flamand, a long time member of UUFG, a member of the choir, and an accomplished High School teacher. Her topic is  "On Leaving Mormonism".
Jan. 17: Bron Taylor, Professor of Religion and Nature at the U of F, will discuss his recent book "Dark Green Religion: Nature Spirituality and the Planetary Future."

Jan. 10: Peter Vogelaar, M.D.,  "Genetics, Epigenetics, Nutrition, and Their Mutual Relationships; Consequences for Your Health and the Health of Your Descendants
