Foundation

The Foundation is a trust fund which was established in 1982, and operates as an agent of the Fellowship. Its purpose is to receive money, invest, and make grants to strengthen liberal religious causes, in accordance with the stated mission of the Fellowship.



UUA Legacy Society
  • A bequest recognition society for people who have a gift for the UUA in their estate plans, including bequests, trusts, and other deferred gifts.
  • Over 840 Unitarian Universalists are members of the UUA Legacy Society.
  • We honor members at every General Assembly with special events and remember those who have died in a video memorial during one of the plenaries.
  • And we promote the UUA Legacy Society to encourage others to make planned gifts.
 
Foundation Grant Awards

Spring 2012 grant award ($1500) was given to Judith Kendall applying on behalf of the Governing Board, Building and Grounds, and Worship Committtees, to begin purchase of new chairs for the Sanctuary.  Additional funds will be raised.

Fall 2012 grant awards:

  • Award was given ($225) to Pete Runyan applying on behalf of the Sound Team for equipment to more easily record services and other events and convert recordings so that they can be posted on the UUFG webpage.
  • Award was given ($1275) to Bob Kendall applying on behalf of the Memory Garden to begin replacement of broken and deteriorating name plaques.

Foundation Grant Cycles

Funds for grants are made possible by the UUF Foundation positioning fixed income investments at a 5% return based on short maturity dates. The process of grant proposals and awards are outlined in the UUF Foundation policy and procedures #10.

Grant Cycles

Grants are provided biannually and must comply with the long range vision for UUFG.  Projects for grant applications should  enhance the Fellowship and strengthen our liberal religion.  Project applications submitted for funding consideration should not be covered by UUF’s operating budget and need the approval of the Program Council Chair.

Spring Grant Cycle:
Applications available March 15
Deadline April 15; Award, May 15

Fall Grant Cycle:
Applications available September 15
Deadline October 15; Award, November 15
