Our Family Promise program, coming out of what used to be Interfaith Hospitality Network, is starting up in September. It is a volunteer-driven organization that unites communities of faith in a collaborative effort to assist homeless families with children. While in Family Promise care, families are sheltered in participating houses of worship, with each host congregation providing shelter for one week at a time up to four times per year. Congregations turn their educational rooms into accommodations for the families, and the families move to a new church home each week.

We have been a host church for IHN and Family Promise for several years and continue to support families with children as they move towards more stability. You can watch the Events and News columns to see when UUFG will be hosting families and sign up for a job. We build our community person by person.
