UUFG works to promote peace through the study and modeling of nonviolent communication, participation and cooperation with the Gainesville Interfaith Peace Center and Veterans for Peace, demonstrating and speaking out against the death penalty, as well as various other related activities.

Much of our work towards multiculturalism focuses on eduating ourselves and others. Multiculturalism encompasses many aspects of identity—race and ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, ability/disability, class, age, language and citizenship status, etc.

The Anti-Racism Project Team continues to be active in the community, working with the Dismantling Racism Change Team affiliated with Gainesville’s Office of Equal Opportunity.

Immigration Study/Action

Our congregation has participated in the CROP Walk, discussed farm worker conditions and the Immokalee workers with our children and youth, and stand on the side of love with immigrant families.
