We travel many different paths to find purpose and meaning in our lives. We unite in our belief in the worth and dignity of everyone. We believe it's our obligation to express our faith through acts of compassion and justice. We're people who actively invite intellectual and spiritual growth. Our kids ask questions and think. Work for Justice

Work for Justice

We are committed to working towards racial justice, environmental justice, and economic justice. Volunteering in the broader Gainesville community is an important part of our ministry, and we are active in a wide range of programs. From helping children in Alachua County schools become successful, to supporting the Black Lives Matter movement, to building and renovating homes in the community, there is much we do to try and make Gainesville and the larger world a better place.

We believe in the power of lifelong learning. Our beliefs are always evolving based off our experiences and exposure to new ideas and new practices. We don’t tell you what you should believe – we want to support you as you discover your own spiritual path. Our programs for all ages promote religious and ethical development in an accepting, nurturing, and fun environment. We strive to provide a program which supports all ages in a spiritual quest while nurturing a sense of community and belonging.

About the Symbols

Unitarian Universalism draws on the wisdom of all the world's traditions — religious, philosophic, scientific, artistic, and everyday — to help bring spiritual wellbeing to all. Our most common Unitarian Universalist symbol is a cup with a rising flame within a double circle. For some, the symbol is the chalice of compassion feeding the light of truth and liberation to the world. For some, it is the lamp of life's energy fueling discovery, goodness and peace for all. We circle our flame with the worlds wisdom traditions to symbolize how it is fed by each of them.
